I need some advice on how to start making infantry units. :cool:

where are the infantry image files??

Here's how you find stuff.

Let's say you want to find the GI's animation.

Look in rulesmd.ini, you find the GI is [E1], and under [E1] you see Image=GI.

This tells you to look for [GI] in artmd.ini for code and whatnot. If the Image= line was absent you'd be looking for [E1] in the art file too.

OK so now you know the name of the GI's file: GI.SHP (rather than E1.SHP). Open XCC Mixer and:
File>Find>gi.shp
Click on the result.
make sure you have the right pallete selected (unittem.pal), then right-click on the SHP file and either:
copy as PCX - (if you want a whole boatload of frames)
copy as PCX (single) - if you only want one image file

Note XCC mixer has a 'hidden' center pane - move the pane borders to see it. In this way you can navigate the 2 panes independently and set your destination directory for where you will write the new files.

Allies hava AA Infantry -----> Guardian GI

Well, i was thinking of creating a new .shp file for an Allies AA infantry unit.

I mainly want this because, whenever i play a game with my brother, over lan, we play several computers and if one of us builds a kirov... then all the computer enemies die easily...

About what he wants to do, let him design as he wants, its quite hard to explain which parts he will use and bla bla bla. Wait till something is done and see (and criticise) the results
