I have been getting some prep work done before modding the Zero Hour game. My strategy is to study the factions in the game and create data pages before modifying any of them. I am trying to live the game, figuratively speaking.
So far, I have modified Generals and created Project-X (I am now aware of another Project X being made. I made my own Project-X without knowing of the other one). The reason I call it Project-X is an algebraic reason: it is because of the independent variable X (and also because I go by Ranger-X on some websites). Project-X is about a combined forces faction (the X-Force) that is related to the Boss General: it combines technology from the other sides, but it adds ALL of the units, not just some of them. The idea is to make a faction that mimics Command & Conquer 4 - develop a class system where units and buildings are unlocked by General's Powers. I have done tech trees for the X-Force by hand, so I have a good idea of what to include.
For Zero Hour, I am doing two modifications: Project-X2 and Ultimate-X. Project-X2 recreates the old factions and turns the boss generals into the X Generals (where evolution plays a key part: choosing a battle plan to counter any threat). Project-X2 is a private mod; I am using models from other mods to enhance the sides. The modification itself will not be made public because I don't want anyone messing around with it (I have been planning the project, so I am already developing it mentally). Plus, I hate plagiarism, so I have to credit the mods they come from.
Ultimate-X is related to the Boss Generals mod: the USA, Chinese, and GLA will be ultimate factions that combine technology. I also plan to introduce the X-Force with new weaponry and modify the Boss General to give her more diversity.
That is a lot of coding work for me to do. I am uploading the tech trees to another website (for security reasons, I won't say what it is or provide a link because the images are downloadable and I don't want them getting stolen).
