I have a few ideas that i think are good (i'd like to do them but i can't get past amking basic models at the moment so it's unrealistic). My ideas are:
1.armoured suites- men that have more health, do more damage ( due to computer enhanced accuracy), and can be upgraded to have some sort of jetpack.
2.tear gas grenades- slow down men, and reduce damage done (they can't see where they are going well, and so find it harder to hit targets).
3.You said your looking for realism, well in real life "rocket soldiers" are a two man team (one firing, other to help with carrying equipment).
4.buildable defneces eg lookout towers increase range of sight and men garrisoned inside shoot further, walls.
5.This isn't my idea i saw i tposted somewhere but I think you should include it >>> an assasin who can garrison in buildings without it being visibly garrisoned.
6.An alround tank of some form. One which has machine guns and a medium range main cannon, but doesn't have the armour of a normal tank, could be faster.
7. (if your including ships) - LCM9s transport ships can carry upto 3 tanks which would be visible from above as it is open toped, and 10 men.
8.Commando units team of 5 )built at same time like angry mob) who have a range of weapons suitable for all enemys and who are only seen when firing or moving. Maybe limit on number of these teams can be built at once.
