there was a tutorial somewhere on this forum for that...

Just look at the way the Paladin point defense laser works...

All a laser is is a trail drawn after an invisible projectile.... but the trail needs to have a bone it attaches to.

You don't need a laser bone per-se, it just needs to be a publically declared bone so that the projectile can referr to it when drawing a trail.
