Hi!

Take your model and import the chinese supply truck w3d file to your own model. Delete everything except the two huge "lights" in front of the chinese truck. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Then align them properly to your model (of course) and apply the texture "lightbeam.tga" to each of the two lights beams via gmax material editor.

I guess you know that you have to open the original .dds files from Generals and save them as 24 bit TGA files, otherwise gmax can not read the file. It only "understands" TGA files.

Now everything is ready besides a little setting. In the material editor select "Pass 1" -> "Shader" and at "Blend Mode" set to "Alpha Blend" for each of the headlights.

Export you model using FILE -> EXPORT

One last hint, if the lights seems to be too dark reopen the file and select each beam, open the material editor and select "Pass 1" -> Vertex Material" look for a field called Emissive. It's set to black in default, click it and change to white.

The lights beams should be handled seperately.

I hope you could help you a little bit.
