I mostly agree with you Flyby, but I think a large reason for the disapointment in mods for Generals is Generals multiplayer support or lack there of. Even on my LAN Generals multiplayer is pathetically slow and without any options. There not even a speed adjuster like single player. Nor is there any official mod support for online play. SP is blinding fast and MP is slwoer than Quake net code :S It seems as though EA just slapped together some multiplayer after completed the SP. They need to learn a few lessons from Blizzard and Valve. And now that they made a cd key comparison check in LAN play for ZH they have screwed mod makers even more. They just keep trying to squeeze more money out of it there half way made games instead of perfecting the game in the first place. Generals is an awesome game and has an awesome negine, but the multiplayer is so disapointing the game can't contend with the other games on the markets in terms of community and mods.
