well I can't seem to make an 8 bit JPEG. I make 8 bit PCX all of the time, so I know some image formats allow it.

8 bit should work fine.
You should either get a free webspace at freewebs.com or geocities.com so that we can download them or e-mail me the pcx files that you modified at kravvitz2003[at]hotmail.com. Replace "[at]" with "@".
