Okay, I think you need the following:

A skeleton of your model that is exported via renegade tools to a .w3d file. Then you need the model itself and the animation.

Now you have to bind the model to the skeleton and thus the bones. I think you do this with a "renegade material" and the "bind to spacewarp modifier". Read the tutorials that came with the renegade tutorials or check the Infantry tutorial at http://gendev.origin-network.net.

Then when everything is done use the w3d viewer and select your model, the pure animation and the skeleton. Now the anim should work.
