after you have created and animated your particle system, use the -win -particleeditor launch switches when starting generals/ZH to invoke the particle editor, and play on the particleeditor map supplied, then create a unit or whatever that your particle system would appear on and do whatever needed to cause it to appear. like destroy a tank to see your new smoke effect or whatever you made. if you downloaded the entire deezire utilities package there is a readme file that explain the uses of all the tool provided, it is a really nicely assembled and useful package of tools.
