Map-specific AI: Do it or don't?
If a map lacks any AI scripts at all, the game's general scripts are used.
If a map includes any new AI scripts, it should also include a copy of all of the game's AI scripts as well. This means that this particular map will always use its own scripts and NEVER use the game's general scripts.
Therefore. such a map will never use the AI scripts created by any mod-maker either!!
Therefore, one would think that maps should NEVER include map-specific AI scripts. But on the other hand, creating a mod for the overall game also creates a cumbersome installation for the user anyway. Meaning that Generals mods may not end up being very popular for the user.
So what makes more sense?
1) Adding map-specific AI to a map and therefore rendering that map unusable for any Generals mod.
2) Not including map-specific AI even though this woul reduce the value of the map, in the hope that the map will be playable with Generals mods which may or may not be played by very many users.
