It's a character from an Australian-made scifi TV show called Farscape. The best sci-fi show I've found - much more fun than the Trekkie stuff, the characters are much more fun. Your nearest DVD store should be able to get the DVDs of all four series, and there's a new miniseries, "Farscape : Peacekeeper Wars" coming later in the year, about October. The character I use for my avatar is a Scarran - Captain Jennek.
