I don't get it? Why limit the distance?
If an enemy base has just been destroyed in an 8 player skirmish and you have enough money then why not send a few dozers in to expand your base on conquered land?
If you don't want the enemy to build close to you then just take out the dozers while you target their supply lines and center.
No dozers,no money to build them or new units...game over
