New to playing Mods, need some help.

Nice place you guys got here. I was referred here via links from other C&C sites and just recently began playing mods for Zero Hour. Anyways, I was wondering if there is any site that allows peole to download individual units for Zero Hour without having to download the entire mod. I do like some features in some mods, but sometimes they do things I would rather not have. Is there a way of removing what you don't like and only keeping what you do?
For example, there is this one mod that allows the US General to buy laser tanks, but they only kill infantry. I think that is pretty useless. This mod also made building laser turrets, Patriot Missles and other buildings super expensive.
I looked thru the FAQs and didn't find anything about downloading only individual units, so I thought it was time to finally join you guys and ask, as well as find out what other cool things you can do with the Zero Hour engine.
