if you have robot side you must insure the following

* robot deaths should not be human skeletons
* structures must not spawn infantry (since the AI core would control buildings
and they would be self-automated)
* no engineers emerging from construction yards
* no ability for humans to build robots or robots to train humans.

These are just an few of the issues to consider.

Start by learning to mod and releasing something tangible.

Thinking of TC's is for a much longer time where you need a team you only get a team using respect & experience
