Well first you need to download the renx tools so you will get a w3d view, then you should extract the w3d files from the BIG with a BIG file editor. now if you want to view the w3ds then all you have to do is run the w3d viewer tool and open it up. after the first time you should be abel to just dubel click the w3d and it will open.

If you want to inport it will epend on what you are useing, 3d max or Renx/Gmax.

this inporter will work for both.W3D Importer
Code:
INSTALLATION:

Place the file in your 3dsmax7\scripts\startup folder or gmax\gamepacks\Westwood\RenX\scripts\startup folder.
Yes it works with gmax and 3dmax7 and imports animations.

Then from inside max:

Click on Customize > Custimize User Interface.
Quads Tab.
Click on the Category dropdown box, scroll all the way to the bottom of it and then click on W3D Importer.
Then drag Coolfile W3d Importer to anywhere in the right scrollbox of the current window. I've placed mine under "Start Paramater Wiring" and added a seperator above it.
Save the interface and overwrite the old if you want.
Close down the window. All installed!

Now anytime you want to import a w3d file. Simply right click in any viewport and click the item Import W3d File from the quad menu.
the cerdit for the installation gose to liger.
