The more you add, the harder it is to balance. This is why games like Dark Age of Camelot have such a hard time adding in new classes. The more you add, the harder it is to balance that new unit against all the units of all of the sides, and still find a niche for the new unit that doesn't just clone another unit in a slightly different way.
You want to strike a balance between number of units and unit diversity. If you have 75 units that perform 10 functions, you've probably got too many units for the same few things that they can do.

2. optimized / optic focused laser strike : laser general's sw
3. tactical laser strike : LG's movable like particle cannon (change name & building for lg)
the immovable cannon characteristic :
1. small in area of focused laser / ion (only as large as HQ / oil refinery / even SAM sites.)
2. blast tru palace & its cave (powerfull & have bunker explosion & def. kill any single structure / very near it.
3. same 4.30 minute charge time
4. blue orange, black violet / white color (the most heated degree color)
5. the large area of effect / in & after for 2 sec. is burning infantry like microwave's effect with no radiation after it.
cost is 6500 & limited to 1 only = cuz the prototype thingies that leads into C&C's Ion cannon.
