copykat, the reason i wanted it to be a building is so i can see where i'm placing the minefield. If i do make it an invisible object, then i cant see where it's being placed because the cursor just dissapears. I tried making it use the minefield cursor, but that doesnt work if you're using the Dozerconstruct command.

If anyone feels like giving me any tips on how to get this to work properly, feel free.... hehe... thx

Well mine clearing has a 2D area-of-effect type display so something similar to that coding, I haven't looked at the code, couldn't you have the mine-laying ability come off the dozer? and even if you can't, displaying the AOE sprite and then using the invis building would still work. Could you try writing special command to get the AOE sprite showing when the dozer places the mines\building?
