Help with .CSF

Hi guys...

I´ve added a chinese sniper....but when I edited some strings at generals.csf and hit enter... this simbol ☺ appears....

How can I take it out?

Use a CSF editor. Dont use notepad.

that is caused by pressing Enter, as the game reads Enter as a open square it is a C++ thing, guess they use getline for there strings as that would cause something like that

This could also be a bug in the CSF editor, as the CSF files contain #10 as line breaks, while the editor probably inserts #13#10, and then the game shows #13 as a box. Whose CSF editor are you using?

I got that problem too whenever I used Scorpio9a's CSF editor. That particular one really bugged me because whenever you pressed delete whilst editing a string, it decided to delete the entire entry too :|

Much easier all round to use STR, unless anyone can suggest a CSF editor that actually works properly with Generals?

The one that is part of XCC mixer works great. Easy to use and no problems in game.

I could suggest the one that is integrated into TibEd 2. But wait, TibEd 2 isn't out yet

Though I can't recommend that one either - I have tested it myself but there are probably some bugs still in there. It shouldn't have the #13-bug, but the extended character set isn't implemented yet (no special/unicode characters, like Chinese).
All in all, it needs more testing. And you just reminded me that I haven't implemented "Remove string"
