Default Tread Animation Problem

I have searched through half a dozen forums and my eyes are about to dry up and fall out. :dead:
The problem is that I am trying to get the treads to animate on my new tank but it just won't happen. It would be great if somebody could tell me the correct material setup/ exporter options/ bone hierarchy to get this thing to work. Or perhaps a link to a tutorial. I tried the tank tutorial (which is excellent ) but it didn't explain if the material had to be adjusted before exporting.

Any comments, suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

(hats off to Proclone here)

Okay, you need to name the treads TREADSL01 and TREADSR01, the material on each tread has to be named the same.

Go to the Vertex Material tab (in the material menu) under the Stage0 Mapping you need to add UPerSec=0.1 in the box underneath. Do this for both tread materials

Then you will need to export the model using the File-Export not the Export using standard materials that is commonly used.

You may need to adjust the mapping on the tread to get it look right, but that is another issue.
