I've done several forum searches on adding new sounds to units in Generals and didn't come up with much.
From what I gathered it's possible to use sounds from older C&C Games, and that you can't just make them with a mic and sound editing software.
My questions are....
1. Do you just extract the sound files from the older games and them place them in the appropriate folder and link them to the units(obviously)
and
2. Why can't you make your own sound files?
I have already recorded part of my soundtrack for fallout and it seems to be working fine in either MP3 or WAV format, just make sure u define what file u will be using in scores.ini
I assume speech would be the same, but maybe the sound has to be a certain quality.
Extract the speech files from the bigs and check the quality (e.g: 128khz 40kbps 16bit Stereo)
Henford, I do believe you mean Music.ini, not Scores. As far as the sounds themselves, the ones in generals I have extracted have these properties: 352kbps and 22khz Hope this helps.
