I agree - that is one mother of a n00b-assed question. Man, any decent coder can should be able to figure that type of thing out in minutes man, not days!

If you are using the xcc program ( I know for Ra2 it is called mixer but for Generals is it called Bigger :-) ) you can see by the side of every ini file in the ini.big file the correct location of it and then you can just copy the file threw the xcc and it will be extracted to the right place on your generals folder( only if the program itself is in the same location as the Generals.exe and all the .BIG files)

okay, i dunno what these guys are telling you but your files should go in cnc generals/data/INI and faction unit in generals/data/INI/objects.

Yes it is a n00b question because I AM A N00B! This is my first attempt at modding for any game.

I tried it in C+C/Data/INI and i keep getting serious errors, SOO i will probably have another go at all the changes and try again.

well post the code and we'll see if anybody can help you. also, try going to my documents/cnc generals data/ and open releasecrashinfo.txt. if the game crashes when you use your modded ini files then it will tell you what ini file and what entry is causing the problem.

Ok. I think the problem is in the american Dozer so i'll change it. (Ooops. I deleted part of its commandset LOL)


Probably just me accidentally deleting code that stopped it working then. (and I had even touched the construction units yet!)

Yep. That fixed it. I had deleted CommandCenter from the American dozer so it read America so it was searching for the object America. Thanx for the help.
