Default Tanks n Ammo

I want to know whether its a good idea to make it so tanks have limited ammo and when its used they have to return to base to reload??

no.... not unless you're gonna make every unit in the game like that. But then you're gonna have to change the entire concept of the game to be much more tactical.

That and think of the line-ups that you'd have in your base when you have like 40 tanks, and they're all waiting to re-arm.

i think that that would be a good idea if you do it with all tanks in the game, and have some mobile ammo unit.

It sounds like a good idea. I think you should go for it as long as you make it easier to reload. Make the tanks reload very quickly, but they still need to return to base. And perhaps you could have ammo trucks in the field to supply a certain amount of ammo.

i like the idea.. we could make a chopper 2 carry out the ammo 2 the units or a mobile unit or building 2 produce ammo

uh yes, no offense or anything, but read the other posts. that has been said about 5 times already.. (im talking about the first statement) and i dont think i like it with only the stronger tanks because it brings rushing back. the wole point of making tanks have ammo if to help cut down on rushing (IMHO anyways)

sorry to burst your bubble, but I am pretty sure that chrono looked into it and couldn't get far...now, maybe he over looked something..but these types of things are usually hardcoded in cnc games
