Few new ideas
Ok...for like the past 2 hours I've been fucking around trying to make a Minelayer unit. (similar to the one in RA2)
I've been using the TroopCrawler as the model but I can't seem to get it to work right. You can't use the upgrade china mines command, unfortunately. I tried making it so that a button fires a secondary weapon which then makes a new OCL_Mines that creates the object Structure Mine, but that doesn't seem to work either.
Anyone else have some ideas? I'm starting to run out.
On a side note....has anyone tried making a superweapon that allows you to take over a building? I've been trying to mess with the code on that as well. I believe it's possible and you could link it some how to the 'Capture Building' ability, but maybe just kick down the time it needs to work???
I'd appreciate any feedback/ideas/suggestions.

i've been trying to re-enable the old engineer thing, where he'd take over the building and die. Not exactly an easy feat, especially since i haven't really worked that hard at it.
I've managed to make a minelayer, but it basically lays an actual field, not individual mines. Basically all that it does is it builds a drone, which uses the cluster mine code to generate the field, obviously it's a smaller field, but it's still a field

I have a good idea, maybe it's too good, I'll leave that until I am sure it'll work, but anyway I've got a related idea.
How about putting the Generals Abilities Purchase buttons onto the GUI HUD, it saves time and frees up a menu for other things

My ninja unit itself is done and has been for a while.....
But...I still need a skin.
Right now it just looks like Black Lotus.
Anyone wanna help?

Let me specify something....right now whenyou build it...it has a button image that's original.
Besides that it just moves/sounds/and looks like Black Lotus.
I'd like to change her briefcase to a sword and put a hood over most of her face....but I lack the skills to. I don't have 3D Studio max.
So...to clarify again. Right now the ninja looks like just black lotus, except that it has my 'ninja' abilities instead of lotus'

ok, all i did was create a dummy drone that basically just uses the cluster mine code.
Make a drone, make it unselectable and invisible(no model). Give it a lifetime update of 1 millisecond (just cause i dislike the number 0). And ondeath make it create a minefield (take a look at the cluster mine code for the way that's supposed to be done).
If you want me to i can code the drone for you, and the command button, and other stuff.
