Default Is it possible to change cost through science?

I have been testing to change the cost of a speciefic unit or unit group (KindOf).. The TechOilDerrick changes the cost through an upgrade, but is it possible to use a science to change the cost of a unit?

I'm planning on making a mod with the 9 generals, and I want the american to decrease the cost of specific units dependent on which general you choose.. So for example if you choose the AirForce General then the aircrafts costs is are reduced by 10%

Anyone know if this is possible?

Check out how the oil refinery works, that might give you an idea. Other than that, I have no idea about triggering it with a science.

You can't use sciences with the triggeredby command thing.

You could make a seperate building which requires that science to build, and that would make your buildings and things cheaper.

^ Isn't there anyway to affect the cost of a unit group with a science? I've tried somethings and nothing seems to work.. Can you affect upgrades with sciences? :/

You can adjust it per side but not 'per Science' as you describe. To adjust things per side you use some code in PlayerTemplate.INI.

As an example;-

PlayerTemplate FactionAmerica
ProductionCostChange = AmericaVehicleSupplyTruck -20%
ProductionTimeChange = AmericaVehicleSupplyTruck -15%
ProductionVeterancyLevel = AmericaVehicleSupplyTruck HEROIC
End

Thanks DZ, I will look into that.. But why I want it to work with science is if you choose the airforce general you get cheaper planes and etc.. But I'm not sure if I can solve that with the playertemplates, but then I haven't examined that file yet

I'll post if I find a solution so all of thoose who are trying to do the same can do it
