Default Laser Weapons and Hover Locomotors

Hiya, Im makeing a Halo Mod for Generals and I'm trying to add some new weapons so I played around with the Paladin's PointDefenseLaser and modified it to make it a weapon and it fires fine and all, but you can't see the laser beam and since theres no projectile it looks kinda odd, when the soldier just falls over after the gun is pointed at him. And as a side note I can't get the tank to attack anything but guys.

And second I made a Locomotor just for that tank and I can get him to hover at the right hieght, he eathier goes right into the air or just stays on the ground.. for example if I set..

Lift = 75 or higher he'll go right into the air but if it's lower he just stays on the ground, I have tried changeing the mass. but it still didn't work..

easy to fix make sure in the factionunit.ini that the laser you are using has a tag like this

ParentFireBoneName = Muzzle01 Muzzle02 Muzzle03


then make sure the model you are using has the bone on the model or the laser will not show up visible in the game

my laser fires from the muzzel01-03 bones see

the corect locomotor to use is this

PreferredHeight = 10 ; at 1, 2, 3, the unit shakes from rounding. at 0 the SurfaceRelativeHeight flag is ignored.

Cool,I got the hovering thing to work but where does the

ParentFireBoneName = Muzzle01 Muzzle02 Muzzle03 In art params?

On a side note, I could be wrong, but I don't remember there being any laser weapons in halo... Plasma yes... but plasma streams are much thicker than lasers with a bulbous shape and a distintive green trail. Thinking of something else?

Nope,your right there are no lasers in Halo but right now thats this is just and experiment for me to see how to add weapons of this sort when it is needed.

the firing partent bone goes in the engineerring params look ate the other lasers in the faction unint.ini
