Default Making/cloning a new unit: model, skin, and ini details

I'd like to, effectively, clone the Humvee and give the clone an all-black skin since it will be something of a covert unit.

Can I just extract and copy the Humvee model files and skins, renaming them to the new covert vehicle name, or do I have to download gmax so I can rename the hierarchy in the (copied) model files?

BTW, I know I could have found this information in that "Create a new unit" tutorial that CNCUniverse had up, but that site doesn't seem to exist and I can't find the tutorial anywhere.

just copy and paste the code but you have to have a differnent name for it.

Of course you also have to make new 'buttons' to make it
