Default making random explosions on a map

alrighty, i am about to start work on my 2nd all infantry map while i finish up the first. this one is going to be a DDAY style thing with a river inbetween the two sides that guys can wade thru and lots of bunkers to fortify. what i want is random explosions to happen in the water (like in dday) so when your guys run through they have alot of opposition.

i would prefer to use the chinese artillery bombardment to randomly have shells fall into the water and blow ur guys up. i am sure it would be possible to script it to generate a shell randomly in the area, but i dont know how to do it. i have worked a bit with the .ini files (i had to to make it all infantry) but scripting like this is completely new to me. any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

just the 2. i didnt know it would be annoying, because i didnt think there were many people who went to both boards.

the reason i put on both was because the responses are slower here but nicer, while over there they are quick to respond but they are such assholes.

well, the question still stands, and an answer would be appreciated.

i dunno how to do any map coding script stuff whatsoever. please help me!

ps: i am just being lazy (that and the world builder help file isnt coming up) but l8r i will try to figure it out by myself.

oh boy, thanks. i bet it is just a matter of generating a chinese artillery shell randomly in a box (which will encompass the river where your guys charge across) and set the conditions to be if some1 comes into another box (which will be a bit bigger than the river defining box).

anyways, what are your opinions on this idea? i think the dday style of it will be fun, even if the explosions make it lag severly. the only problem is even tho it is infantry only there will still be chinooks. well i guess u will have rocket men in bunkers, making chinooks sitting ducks.

maybe you can try to change the skins of the GLA Trap
and then put them in water if someone steps on it it explodes
but if you do that they all explode lol so you have to change the radius

Or he could not. That works to.

Generating a random explosion. Wouldnt that be a minefield that recharges then dies? that would cause a random explosion.

you guys must remember that i am not trying to make random explosions so much as i am trying to make random shelling of the water. as the guys wade thru it and storm up the beach, random artillery shells should bombard the area to slow them down and kill the unlucky ones. i want it to be alot like D-DAY, with infantry running full speed up a beach as artillery rains down (seemingly from nowhere) and guys in bunkers spread hot lead thruout the enemy ranks. it will make for some good screenshots if nothing more.
