Default Making a low poly tank tutorial!

Well iam was really bored on the pc so i descided to make a tutorial of how to make a low poly tank suitable for generals! (this tutorial may be diffrent from others but this is how i do it) This tutorial is for gmax and 3ds max.
gmax is free and you can download it of the offical discreet site.

lets begin:

Step 1: create a box with a length, width and height segements of 3

Step 2: then convert it to a mesh by right clicking on it and convert to.

Step 3: then goto the left viewport and click on vertex which is pointed out.

Step 4: Mold the vertexes by clicking on the blue dots and moving them about to take the shape of a tank.

Step 5: then goto the front and mold it more.

Step 6:it should look like this.

Step 7: then creat a cilinder with only one segiment and 6 sides, then pace it to make the head of the tank.

Step 8: then click on the tank base and in the modify panel (on the right) click attach then click on the cilinder.

Step 9: then try to bevel the tank a BIT so it could look realistic.

Step 10: it should now look like this.

Step 11: then goto the left viewport and using the line tool try to make the body track of the tank.

then goto the modify panel and find or click on extrude(extrude as much as you want):

Step 12: then copy the track body and put it on the side of the tank, then agian attach all together for the final product.

This tank was only 320 polys which is really good!

It may have three twenty polies, but it looks very ugly and basic. you could delete facews underneath and save 18 polies right there.

LMFAO !!

For starters, you have way to many polies for what it is.

Second it ugly.

Third you havent mentioned use of any alignment tools or bones so your model wont move and if it did it would be a solid offset object.

forth you haven't used any of the real mesh editing tools as "moving vertices" is not the only one and by far the easiest for any person to figure out.

I suggest you go download the manual or even the quicktime tutorials for GMAX and watch them over and over.

There is an unwritten rule that states "You should know what you are doing before you go making tutorials about it." Now I don't mean to knock your modeling too much...the tank it decent, but it just doesn't seem like you have anywhere near the skill level or experience to be writting tutorials on it.
