I only make specific remarks when i think it can be solved with only a few remarks. Sorry to say, but this was not the case.
So, I prefer to give you the right sample, instead of writing a novel with critics...It is up to you FIRST to see where you went wrong.
The method to use for historic modelling is to use x3 planes (top, front, side) and map them with the 3view bitmap. Go in sub-object mode of the UVW map and position them according each other so they match up.
You'll also need some historical photographs or pictures of scale models to help you understand the drawing better.
For modelling itself, make use of the See-through object properties, so you can see both bitmap and your model.
