Im trying to make a new controlbar but ive got a problem,
As you can see for some reason theres black bits along the top? I used the US controlbar as a template used the exact same image size and INI entries but I still get the black bits at the top, suggestions?[/img]
I should be a palete problem (two blacks in the image, one keeped black, the other made transparent) or a DDS export parameter to modify...
I don't have the generals files here so I can't check but perhaps importation of the files for modification doesn't keep right the transparency settings.
The transparent parts of the commandbar are defined by a mask. When you open the original sacommandbar.tga and go to "paint on mask" you will see that all transparent parts are black and all visible parts are white.
(btw: I use corel photo-paint, could be a little different in other programs)
The mask is a alpha channel that can also be managed with photoshop. Just go in the "channel palette" and click on alpha for modification. Click on RGB channel to go back.
hum.... TGA export options of photoshop ?
Try to select the parts you want to keep opaque, old versions of photoshop (and perhaps still the TGA export module) used the selection to set up the mask.
You can also try to erase the unwanted parts with the rubber (so you have a checker, transparent "color") and then export
