Default [GUIDE]How To Open SkirmishScripts.scb

i have noticed many people dont know how to open SkirmishScripts.scb so here is a quick guide on how to do it.

1. Open up worldbuilder
2. Click Edit (at the top next to file)
3. Click Edit Player list (on the edit menu)
4. Click Add Skirmish Players and then click ok
5. Click Edit again but this time click Scripts
6. Click Import scripts and then browse to your Generals/Data/Scripts folder (in program files not My Documents) and double click SkirmishScripts.scb
7. You should now see a file tree with lots of different scripts in that u can edit

Hope this helps people who didnt know how to open up the scripts

The runtime error is because you have mod files installed. Remove them and the editor should work fine agagin. The editor doesn't support mods.

But since the worldbuilder doesn't support mods, you cannont add new factions on the player list, correct?

I'm sure there must be a way to manually edit it. Try just opening it in Notepad.

It just shows garbage mostly. It's obviously a binary file, not a text file.

BTW, this skirmishscripts file, is that like the AI.ini file in RA2? And, if I edit it though World Builder, wouldn't that change it just for the map, or does it change it for everything?

You might try Ultra edit, or another hex editor. That might be what the file is.

I use a soft called EmEditor to open the .scb files,it shows something like this:
CkMp<
WaypointsList< teamOnIdleScript;
teamUnitType6:
teamUnitType59 teamAutoReinforce8
teamUnitType47 teamIsAIRecruitable6

And i think the first line is "CheckMap"
