I've started working a bit with renx and modeling, so when I downloaded Pro:Gen I watched that cool skidoo in the opening video and thought it was sweet. I edited the skidoo in renx so now it's a motorcycle with a muffler. (Hope it's not elligal to use some of Pro:Gen's models, I'm not releasing a mod anyway) . I added in some smoke effects for the muffler from the USA dozer and changed the locomotor a bit so that now it does huge wheelies. It's buildable from the barracks because GLA doesn't get radar until a long time so now they can scout in early game. It doesn't have any weapons.
Now that that's said, I wanted to give the Bike a "NOS" ability. It's so that the bike can scout bases and then use the ability for a quick retreat. I got everything set up, but not working. You can select the icon from the controlbar, and select destination. (I added in the Aurora's Afterburner and Sonic Boom Noise when activated). The bike will drive to the attack spot, stop and continue using it's ability over and over as if it's attacking ground, yet it does no damage and has no range. That isn't too big of a deal right now.
Yet I am also experiencing locomotor problems. I want it to switch locomotors once the NOS is activated, making it invincible like the Aurora until it gets back to base. I know it has something to do with attacklocomotor but I'm not sure how to get it set up becasue I'm having errors.
So recap on my problems:
1) When NOS is used, the reloading of the ability does not start until it has actually arrived at its destination, where it actually attacks.
2) The NOS automatically continues to fire on the spot once the ability is done reloading. How do I make it so you have to manually choose where to fire EVERY time it's used?
3) I don't know how to make the locomotor for the bike change once it attacks. I've tried to copy some of the aurora's entry but I get technical difficulties.
So I hope some of you will be able to understand what I'm getting at. If you need me to explain some of it over I will be happy to.
I've also thought up a great idea for the bike. I haven't actually tried to yet, but I will once I get this NOS thing sorted out. The bike comes loaded with a rebel when built, which is actually the one driving it, and when you choose to unload him the bike becomes neutral, while the rebel can walk around.(I hope the neutral model can be changed so that there is nobody on the bike). Then the rebel can hop back in the bike and ride away when necessary. If anyone has any idea how to get this to work please reply. I think this would be a cool idea and would work with hijackers and such.
