Default Where do you install a mod?

Probably a stupid question:

I'm working on a mod myself, and I currently just have the files (INIs, Generals.csf and a readme file) in the relevant folders in the Generals install folder. But I've heard if you package and distribute (or download) a mod then it should go in the "Command & Conquer Generals Data" folder. So what way should I zip my mod so that everything goes where it belongs?

And are all those folders in the Generals install folder or in the "Command & Conquer Generals Data" folder in My Documents?

Generals install folder.

If you want it to make it like a .big and a -mod yaddayadda.big shortcut you have to pack all the files into a .big, dunno how and where though :scared:.

Already have it

But it can't make BIG files, only MIX. Anyone know a good BIG editor?

And anyway, if I stuff all of it into a BIG file, should it be branched off inside that file (another BIG file within the main one) or just put everything straight into the file by itself? And where should that file go then?

Try finalbig (http://www.wagnerma.de) if you want to package the mod properly put the .big file in MyDocuments/Command and Conquer Generals Data and then add to your shortcut -mod Yourmod.big
