Skinning problem

I tried to change the color of the USA dozer and when I ran the game the dozer was completely black except for the team color. I used paint shop pro to edit the tga file which I converted to dds to replace the original dozer dds files.
Any help would be awesome.

What options did you (un)check in the .dds save options?

I dont recall there being any options to check or uncheck...I am using S3TC to convert the files. If there are what should and shouldnt I uncheck?
