Default Diffuse Colors...

While applying my muzzle flash texture (that does not work by the way) I noticed that RenX shows the Diffuse color entry as:
Diffuse Color: Map#2 (Texture.tga)

The ones from the game (avpaladin) show their flash effect texture Diffuse color entry as follows:
Diffuse Color: Bitmaptexture (Texture.tga)

Theirs works of course. Mine does not. When I export in W3D format my .tga file is not defined in the W3D. Even when I export with standard materials.

"Bitmaptexture" I assume is just the name that has been manually given to the material where "Map #?" is the default name from RenX.

The one point I would like to get across here is that the Material Navigator shows a distinction between these two entries. My entry is highlighted by a small green rectangle next to the texture and the avpaladin entry shows a small red rectangle next to its texture. What does this indicate?

How should I be applying this flash texture? I am just creating a plane object and applying a material with all the suggested settings for opacity and shading... etc. Each time I have done this in the past, it has not worked. I see the flash but the black is also visible.

Is there another way that I should be doing this?

The red square appears if the texture file referenced is not found, which is probably normal because you don't have the original files and/or the files are not in a reconized map path of RenX.
