Default Need help with the resource system

For the TA to Generals mod, we need to build on top of our resource system.

ie. we are re-modelling the supply piles to a metallic deposit, instead of boxes.

How do we change Generals so that we can build directly on top of these deposits we create? Because obviously you cannot build on top of the resources in standard Generals.

If you know anything about how TA works you'll know what I mean.

Oh come on guys, someone must know where the fact that you cannot build ontop of a supply pile is controlled.

that might not be as simple as you think

but i think it is along the same lines as building on water (but i might be wrong)

ahhh a grand total of 5 posts, you really should be helped as fast as we can. We should all rush to help you seeing as you are such an active member of the forums....

How about you find out, and tell us how to do it. I'm not even a coder, I'm a 3D artist but I'd guess that you change this part of code in Civilianprop.ini:

Code:
  KindOf = IMMOBILE CLEARED_BY_BUILD
to this:

Quote:
KindOf = IMMOBILE
Do me a favor and tell me if this works...

I didn't realise a prequisite of asking for help was to have spammed my way to an unneccesarily large number of posts. That really was rather a stupid comment. I have many areas of the C&C community to dedicate my time to and this is just one of them (I am Paul from CNCSeries.com in case you wondering) and there are only so many hours I have spare in a day.

Yes I know it's not easy, because it's taken up several hours of mine and my lead coder's time to no avail. However we shall keep trying, or invent a suitable workaround.
