Default 3DS 5.1 Skinning Help

Okey i'v got 3ds 5.1 and i model a lot of times in that program. but i have one problem i can't add the skin to the model i dunno how i must do that

have someone tutorails or something??
i hope if someone can help me

Press M to bring up the material navigator, then go down to maps, and choose one, then make sure you click bitmap, then look for the skin, and apply it, there is a blue and white box there aswell, which allows you to see it in the viewport aswell ( used for blueprints), it will be pixely in hte viewports, but on a quick render, it shows it perfectly.

I think thats how you do it, i havnt got 3ds max open atm, so im not sure, but it summit like htat.

this is done in 3ds max 5 but it shuld be the some way as 3ds max 5.1

step 1 open max

step 2 import the model you whant to put the texture (image01) i am useing the ABBattleLab

step 3 select the model and press m on the keyboard (image02)

step 4 click diffuse num 1 (image03)

step 5 click bitmap num 2 (image03)

step 6 select the texture that is for the model and click open (image04)

step 7 click assign material to selection (image05)

step 8 click show map in viewport (image06)

step 9 have a look at it (image07)

finaly i am up from my bed i go read it now!

if its work i will give a sign if it not or maybe i do not understand something i post it to

one small question is the w3d importer work at your 3ds?

Cool tanks so i can delete gmax from my pc.

this is the first W3D importer for 3ds thats work!
i have now 3DS Max 5.1 and Plasma 3D 6.0 for other 3d formants.
