Default replacing existing models

Hello

I downloaded some of ChrisV80 his models. The models contain WD3, dds and sometimes tga files. I tried to replace the crusader tank with the advanced crusader by extracting the original WD3 and dds files of the crusadertank. Finally I renamed the WD3 and dds files of the advanced crusadertank and placed those files in Art/W3D and Art/Textures.
After that I started the game to see if I succeeded.....the crusader was invisible.. :tard:

What did I do wrong?

The name of the w3d file is stored in the file itself, so you can't just rename it and think it will work. You'll need to either a) import the model into renx and then export it with the name you want, or open it with a hex editor and change all the examples of it's original name with your new name.

Wow..hold a sec you mean I really need software like renx or gmax to replace or add models?...but I'm totally noob.. :cry:

No, only if you want to rename them..... You could always just change the crusaders model in the ini files to the one you downloaded if you don't want to go to all the trouble it takes to rename the model itself.

I like all those ChrisV80 models but I don't know how to edit the INI's to make those vehicles visible!

Can anybody tell me how to code this!
