Hi people,

Version 0.4 beta is almost ready. Only new feature is the Text parser -- so you can edit .INI, .WND, .HTML and other text-based file formats.

Support for .WND and .STR should come with the next few versions.

I've rewritten the BIG file save routine... should fix some problems people might have been experiencing. A little slower, but much more reliable.

DeeZire, if you could send my your email address (to lbooker@igreen.net), I'll add you to the updates mailout. I had your email before, but it's at work. :P

I also created a new user account because I had problems with my password... :P

I can open Window.big no problems... give me some more info at this email address: lbooker@igreen.net

As for W3d.big... I'd need to get ahold of the retail, or the MPT to investigate. I'll look into it.

Just wanted to say nice work man, and I look forward to future releases.

Your editor is leaps and bounds ahead of the MultiEX one, and let us not speak of the obscure importer program that ran only through command line

Umm, this might be me Logan but on a 2.6GHz P4, v0.4b took 38 minutes to save W3D.BIG after replacing just one file - is that right?

Ouch... I've only had access to three BIG files: INI.big, Window.big and English.big -- all are small files.

The new BIG code probably needs a bit of tweaking. Shouldn't be too big (excuse the pun) a deal. I just needed to make the code 100% reliable, so speed needed to be sacrificed.

Obviously, that's one hell of a sacrifice.

I'll speed up the routine significantly in 0.5b.

On a side note, BigPOP should save BIG archives with a few large files faster than an archive containing a buggerload of smaller ones.

Any more comments and bugs let me know via email, unless you think it's big (pun again, sorry) that it should be posted.

Curator: As soon as I get my main dev comp running (upgrading troubles, moving to DDR-RAM platform) I'll add you to the mail list. For the time being, I'm stuck on my Win2000 Server machine -- and it ain't pretty.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it.

You beat me to it DZ. Took me 45 minutes to save the file. I wanted to see if it was this POS or if the program was really working . My HD light doesn't function anymore. :/
