That first story sounds kinda good... But I'm not into stories in MW. I buy the games to BLOW STUFF UP!  But that's good...

A good game is mostly determined form its storyline. It doesn't matter how good it looks or how many explosions there are because whats the point of doing it without meaning. Story is what generals lacked and I feel that Zero Hour won't even sell 100,000 copies.

hey, a little update by me 
I've made all the weapons of the MC2 game, except for the autocannons since I'm still working on the visuals for that.
I Figured out a way to make a mech be able to carry up to 9, or even 15 different weapons.
I've made a verry decent looking Gauss and PPC and ERPPC since those are not found in Generals. I'll check with aladin ifI can post some screens.
I'm currently busy making the missiles "swarm" since a Vulture can launch up to 80 missles, I want them to look good, and nog be a contunious stream of smoke and some tiny rocketengines. I've already figured out a way to give them random swirling effects but I need a little help from aladin with that. I'm not going to tell how I did all this since we're still in development, once a new version is out you can drool all over the pretty codes we've made
But 1 thing I still am not quite sure of is how to equip the mech, I mean I don know HOW, but what should I give them ?
When I look at various pages, the MadCat for example is pretty much always different in weapon loadout.
Also, and that is simply my lach of knowledge I dont know what the LBX AC's are and the X lasers 
I've not played MC2 yet, but I'm downloading it, since none of the local stored carry it anymore 
problem is Overnet is pretty damn slow
Also I could use some advice on wich weapons table to use

Story... Hmm, here's an early draft:
OK, remember that Clan Smoke Jaguar was destroyed by the Inner Sphere forces? Now, one of their top mechwarriors, a guy by the name of Ancetius Mercer (nickname: Black Cloud), escaped this purge, fleeing not to one of the other Clans, but travelling deep into IS territory on his own - no mech, no friends, no allies. He then ends up on a remote IS planet, St. Augustus. Here, he starts a rebellion, and leads an uprising of mercenaries and locals aginst the IS garrison. Taking control of the IS hardware won over from the rebellion, and seizing control of some merchant liners on the planet, his forces strip the planet and leave, eluding the IS retaliation force by mere hours. In honour of the exterminated Clan Smoke Jaguar, Ancetius leads his motley army out towards the Outlands in a voyage similiar to that of General Kerensky so many years ago. Settling on some remote(insert desolated-sounding name) planet, he starts rebuilding his forces, recieving help from many mercenary groups who are swayed by his charismatic personality and convincing nature. Hybrid as his forces were, Ancetius eventually shaped them into a new clan, Clan Black Cloud, using his old callsign as he leaves the life of the mechwarrior behind and concentrates fully on leadership of the fledgling clan. Soon however, the repercussions of the St, Augustus rebellion, coupled with clashed from the original Clans(who refused to accept Clan Black Cloud as a true clan), lead to war on the primary world (same unknown name as above), pitting the forces of the IS, the Clans, and the mercenary conglomerate of Clan Black Cloud against each other.
Rough draft, outline effect - still under consideration and subject to (many) changes. You can squeeze several factions into the storyline - the IS, the Clans, Clan Black Cloud(mercenary-ish), the Draconis Combine(the primary planet of Clan Black Cloud is close to the Draconis border), random other mercs, etc., etc.

I'll try to make the Shadow Cat again, I got a screenshot of it (yay). Then, if you found a skinner, I'll send it to him. If there already is a Shadow Cat, I'm hoping mine will have less polys, look slightly better, whatever. If not, well, POO ON YOU!!!
