Im working on a skin for a pill box/sentry gun type thingy and I wanted to see how it looked on the model...im using 3ds max by the way...and when I render it I get the image you see below. .The front faces are invisible. and its showing the inside of the model. Does anyone know what is causing this? And How I can fix this?
Did you use Chilliskinner and Texporter to skin it?
If so, when you have the polys flat and lining them up to be attached and mapped, do not use the mirror tool to move the polys about. For some reason it will invert the side that renders.
Yes I do use chilli skinner and text porter. When I clonned the model I used 3ds maxes clone tool on the top toolbar. If thats what you are talking about then could you explain what I should do differnent?
the reason you see your model this way is because the normals are fliped. to fix this apply "normal" modifier to your model(s) (you can find it under "modifier list" mesh editing>normal on your right control panel) then just select "flip normals" option, convert your model to mesh/poly and your done.
Yeah, I thought Chilli was too. I thought the way i just suggested wasnt for me. But you know what, after a month or so I actually learned it that way and it rocks.
