Random crate powerups
Is there any way to get these to work in Generals? The crates, I suppose, are easy, but getting them to spawn at random locations?

i dont think you can do it purely through ini editing.
You could script a weapon that falls at random places on the map and then spawns a crate.

Well, I know a bit about scripting, so if that's my only option I'll try it.
But will this work in skirmish too? Cause I don't know what kind of scripts will and which will not work in skirmish (an explanation will be appreciated)...
And will the crate "know" not to spawn on impassable terrain?

The only real way to do is this is to set waypoints or areas, and then spawn your crates within the areas or waypoints. The scripts should work fine in skirmish, any script you see in WB works in skirmish, just not all in MP.

Well... see, I want this to be generic behaviour for all maps. Its not for a map but for a mod. So the script I have now will (not tested yet) create an object just somewhere on the map, and then the object dies, and fires a weapon which creates a crate somewhere, through a projectile object that spawns a crate when it dies. But if I apply ScatterRadius to the deathweapon, will it be possible to fire the weapon at random locations? Could it possibly spawn outside the map? And I want it to work in multiplayer AS WELL AS skirmish, so is it still possible?
EDIT: Allright, I tested it, and the game locked up just as the game started (an actual skirmish game, not generals itself). So whatever I did, it doesn't work, and things are looking pretty complicated as it is... So does anyone have a SIMPLER solution?

I cant remember exactly, but maybe in multiplayer.ini or gamedata.ini there was some reference to crates that would create the effect you want. Not sure though...

I'd be very happy if it's true  , but I looked through both of them just now and I can't find anything that looks like what I'm looking for. Maybe it's in a different file, so if you happen to remember more specifically what you mean, please tell me.

Damn... I was 30% sure that there was something, must have hallucinated it. Ill have a look again though to see if it really is in an ini or not...
