Default graphics question

ok, here has been a major problem for me

whenever i add a graphic or modify a graphic, and use it in the game, the game sorts of "crops" the new graphic to the sillouette of the original image.

best example is in controlbar, lets say i want it to cover half the screen (just an example). I modify the image so it has a single 300x600 bar, but when it loads up ingame, the image is cropped to the shape of the original controlbar.

now i can rename the image file and call that different file in the mappedimages INI's, and i can even create a new mappedimage entry, but the cropping is still there

this, like i said before, is a major problem for me. it is probably easy to solve, or very hard to solve, but I dont know, I am not a graphics person, so if somebody knows how to overcome this, please tell me!

You need to edit the controlbar.wnd, and make the controlbarparent the size of the image. Anything that doesn't fit in that gets cut off.

Did you adjust the alpha-channel of the tga? The alpha-channel defines which areas of the picture are transparent in-game.

If you use Corel PHOTO-PAINT, you open the tga and select Mask->Paint On Mask (shortcut is Ctrl+K). I don't use PhotoShop, so I can't help you there, but take a look at this thread: http://www.deezire.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=3618.
