Default DestroyDie - kinda confusing, what does it do EXACTLY?

I'm working on / updating my generals module guide so I need this info.

What exactly is the DestroyDie module for, and are there any other special things I should know? Apparently every object gets it by default, because it's in Default/Object.ini. But lots of objects in the INI files have it added anyway, even though it seems to be useless to do this. And for some reason, if an object has xxxDeathBehavior modules (SlowDeathBehavior, InstantDeathBehavior, etc.), the DeathTypes are reduced so they don't overlap those the xxxDeathBehavior modules use. This leads me to think DestroyDie conflicts with any xxxDeathBehavior module that uses the same DeathType. And if so, does it also conflict with KeepObjectDie (since that module seems to do the exact opposite of DestroyDie)? So can someone (preferably someone with experience) clarify this for me please?

From what I've seen, the destroy die is used mainly for things like canceling the construction of a building. I removed it from a structure, and every time I hit the stop construction button, I got more money, and it kept building. Beyond that, I'm not sure of any other functions.

Hmm... strange, but interesting. This would mean that DestroyDie may NOT be applied to objects by default after all. So if you don't have it, an object can not be destroyed? Anyone else have any info on this? Something they discovered while trying stuff out maybe?
