You need to reset the pivot. Go to the third tab, select the barrel, select affect pivot only, then hit align to world. That'll fix the recoil problem.

Thx now my recoil is good thats exacly what i wanted but 2 other problems have occured.

1. when my tank fires it shows the exhaust of the barrel in black with the fire texture on it how do i make the black be visible through (doesnt this have something to do with alpha or something?)

2. somehow my tanks show up a little bit greenish not like the skin they used to have when i adjusted the pivot, i know i got the correct skin and it should fit perfectly on it but somehow it shows a bit greenish now how do i fix this?

thx for reading

the alpha thing, you can check out proclone's w3d material application tutorial.

As for the skin showing up wrong, amke sure to re-apply the skin after an edit.

The skin color problem is caused by the settings in the W3D application part. You need to make sure that your top two colors in the second or third tab are a nice gray or something, not any of the other colors. You can use that to create some intersting colored skins, but it's probably not what you want.
