Default Pop-up turrets?

Would it be possible to have a building act like the pop up turrets from Battle For Dune? ie. it stays dormant most of the time but the top bit pops up and fires when it attacks? It would also have less armor when firing than when it was dormant?


Also, would it be possible to combine this with 'component tower' type behaviour? eg. you build the tower and then have to build a turret on it.

I'm looking for a solution to this too. I'm trying to code a missile launcher building like the C&C SAM Site, except this one has a button that disables it (so you can't trick it into opening by moving units near it, and then blasting it when it's vulnerable).

And for the Component Tower thing, can't you just use the method the Overlord uses?

lol i'am searching it to lol but it is poseble u can use the strat gun that will com out the building and then fire.

ez just make a building that has a animation coming out of the ground and then a second model firing weapon and code it with the condition state pre attack or somthing similar and the the second model for attacking should work just like in dune then

Yeah, but would it still allow the turret to pop up?

The Strategy centre animations are fairly specific. Does anyone know if the PREATTACK_A condition state can be used with buildings?

EDIT: Ah, I know how to do it....maybe. The building you build would be just the base and then when you build a turret for it, the turret model would normally just be the sunken top of the turret but the FIRING_A condition state would have the top raised with an animation in PREATTACK_A to show it raising. Which condition state could I use to show it lowering though?

make its idle animation nder hte turet and then it can just pop up, very easy to code/animate

or just make a firing animation so that the bullets dont start until the turret has popped up... just have it as a long range to see but can't fire right away
