Default Modelling Help.

I havent been making models too long. I started a long time ago but got real busy after only a week and just started back. I made a few models yesterday but I got a few questions.

1. When I have a poly and I mirror it, I have a "spine of vertices" down the middle which take up polies. How do i get rid of those vertices so that there are only the vertices on the side of the poly? Like if I created a square and mirrored it, how could i get rid of the vertices in the middle so that only the corner vertices are there?

2. How can I tell what scale the models are at? In other words how can i see how big they are in comparison to other units?

3. I was looking through the RenX gamepack and saw the old mammoth tank in there. Is it possible to trasnfer all the models from Renegade to generals and then just code them? Or is that illegal since they are the property of another westwood game?

Thanks

Judgment

#2... what i like to do is load a unit like the crusader or paladin next to my model then scale my model to the size i want...

#3... i started out by taking renegade models and converting them to Generals... theres nothing wrong with it...

When you're in vertex subobject mode you'll find a tool called "target weld" to the right in the control panel (so long as your on the modify tab)

Target weld lets you click and drag one vertex to another.. the vertex you "drag" gets merged with the one you drag it over.

Thanks fellas, that's alot of help. Also where do I find the the models to load into RenX?

Judgment

Edit: I tried to "weld the vertices" and it did not work. At least I couldnt get it to. I tried to weld them but it just went all hay wire. I attached the polies i wanted to weld and tried some other things but it would not work for me. Sometimes a plane would just diasappear and sometimes it would say that the vertices were welded but the vertice was still there.

I can send someone one of my models if that would help. Before I do anymore models I want to know if it is the way I am constucting them that is causing the error with the weld.

Thanks.

You need to download and install the "W3D Importer" then you can import Generals/ZH models into RenX
