I didn't even see anyone mention blitz.. obviously Waspo isn't being constructive but don't blame blitz over it 0. o
Anywho, I'm wondering what the theme for the other command bars are like. Does this one match the others?
So far as it being bamboo
a) Why bamboo for a command bar? Bamboo never really strikes me as something to use on a war interface.
b)As it stands right now the "bamboo" reminds me of 'Hickory Sticks' which are a kind of potato snack around here. I think if you added the segments normally found on bamboo you'd be better off. Also try giving more depth to the sticks by showing their tops; even if they were all cut like that you'd still be able to see a little of the top from the perspective the command bar is sitting in relation to the"camera".
well, i made it bamboo for japan, because we are more then likely going to make japanese buildings like camps, made out of bamboo. and the bamboo style seems to fit in well with the whole pacific concept. most of the other themes are undecided.
i have segments on the bamboo, like you suggested, but they are hiden behind the buttons, and such. i like your top idea too, i'm gonna do that.
