Default Total Conversion Modding: AI & Challenge Mode

Hi, this is Edan from Imperial Assault, and I've been looking into the future, wondering how this mod will settle in the game.... I noticed that total conversion modding is gonna pose some problems for us down the road, that including AI & implimenting the mod into Challenge Mode.

For the AI, will we have to write a new AI script? What's gonna be involved?

Also, for Challenge Mode-- We plan on having generals for each faction... What needs to be done for this to work properly? Missions in mission builder with the AI Script that needs to be written up? Also, how will having four factions instead of three affect this?

As far as the AI goes you will most likely have to have completely new written up. AI editing is tricky too, and not many people know how to do it well.

Well that stinks. I guess I'll have to learn it myself. Seems like it would be pretty interesting creating an AI....

a "friend" i know is a good AI coder but he bailed out on me b/c he is a greedy fool- wanted me 2 pay him (i won't say how much tho)

i know another person i can ask, ill ask if he might like to help you guys to

I'm interested in learning to make skirmish scripts, but looking at the .scb files, it's just a mess. Is there a program that allows easy viewing of these files?

C&C Kings is also looking for an AI Scripter. Blitz 2 is pretty lucky that they got RVMech (probably the best AI Scripter there is). BTW The WB can view scb files but thats pretty much the extent of my knowledge on AI editing :P

sorry i havnt been able to get back to you about my AI coder friend Neo... we had a wee bit of a fight :| apparently he feels like being an ass and wants me to pay him to code my AI for my mod, im still talking to him about it, so i maybe able to convince him to help both of us
