Hydro Damn
anyone know how to get that water effect to work when u kill a damn>
EDIT: actually ill tell everyone how to do this. let me finish testing,......
EDIT EDIT: Does anyone know how to raise the water like they did during the dam break.
And I dont mean the script that sez raise water to a height/raise water to a height after time.
If you look closely at the cutscene, the water flows in a 'wave'. I mean the flow of the water not the actaul wave itself.

I think that was a modeled animation...
And, because the water level raising was scripted as part of the effect, and the effect had to happen at a certin time, You can use the water raise script to raise the water. May be how they did it for that scene.
And "Hydro Damn"....
That's just funny stuff. :-p

Try extracting that mission and looking at it. I think you can recreate it if you want, but don't use it in an online map as it will lag horribly. You can use it in SP maps though.

Yeah i opened up the GLA 01 map in Worldbuilder, but I cant figure out how they did it. theres no water polygon underneath the dam... very confusing. if any one knows how to get this to work(DZ!!) then post here.

Im glad you took my cynicism in good humour Immoman, I apologize because it was pretty harsh.
But yeah, the wave, damage, camera angles everything works fine EXCEPT: No water coming from dam(remember there isnt a water polygon in the official maps) and no water being raised from the invisible river. There arent any scripts in the official maps as Ive checked them all. Wtf wtf wtf wtf

This is what the World Builder guide says:
HOW TO BUILD A DAM
In a word: don't. The dams in the single-player campaigns took a great deal of time and special coding to create. If you would like to have the visual of a dam in your map, you can place the object, but be sure to check that it is Indestructable and Unselectable in the Object Properties window.
So that's not much help I guess...
